More real than reality TV
Before we go any further, I want you to pick up your remote. Got it? Good. Now turn off the TV. Trust me, you don't any of that fake, contrived "reality" crap now that KatsCast is on the scene.
Katja Trijber likes to look at the world through a camera's viewfinder. Not only that, she also record what she sees. The end result may not seem like much, but it's real. Forget the so-called "Real World", KatsCast is closer to reality than anything a ratings-obsessed television programmer could ever hope to come up with. And because there's no contrived drama or storylines, it's great. Where else are you going to see a Dutch news presenter at his side job, helping birth a calf? Or three siblings running to buy their mother a new bag before taking off for Paris?
And unlike "reality" programs, it's short and to the point. No editing or re-editing to drag out the story. With KatsCast you get the good stuff right away, without having to wade through the stuff you don't want.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm hoping Katja and her KatsCast are around for a very long time. It's the perfect thing for the iPod generation; a great program that travels well and holds up under repeated viewings. Bravo.
